Keep the good alive anyway!



Despite from having, what I'm told was, a lovely presentation, sadly Adclub did not advance past districts in this year's National Student Advertising Competition over the weekend. Instead, Marshall University took first place and WVU second. So much work went into the making of this campaign. It was truly a solid team effort. A special thanks to all of the presentation team, leaders Katie and Lauren, and all of the directors for making this possible. Trophy or not, you should all be proud of the work you have done.

Cannonballlllllllll!!!




I LOVE this! Here in the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University we always feel the push. Everyone knows where journalism is going, right? So take Online Journalism Fundamentals, Computer-assisted Reporting, and attend those Online Journalism seminars. And with all this pressure in the direction of the mega-force known as the internet, we students are confronted with the looming question-- is print becoming obsolete?


But, alas, here, finally is print screaming back with a resounding NO! I want to rip this out and tack it up all over Scripps. Print has and always will have a place as a unique media experience. Make new friends but keep the old, people! I think, in this case, we all know which is gold (heehee).

Ta-da!


Greetings fellow AdClubbers and Ad Lovers alike! This is the very first posting on the blog that is sure to change and dramatically improve your life! Have I sold you yet?

No, but seriously, this is truly the first-ever blog for the OU Ad Association, and we, or at least I am very excited about it. My name is Abby and I am the Social Media Chair for AdClub this year. I will be blogging, tweeting, and booking the face off of all things advertising. And it's all for your viewing pleasure! Most likely I will be posting on popular events, trends in the industry, and even more likely on just anything that I think is the cats pajamas (my mom says it's still cool to say that).
